And a Boy Named Joey, Destined To Shine!
What We Do!
Our mission is to positively influence children's lives by empowering them through our impactful programs. Our sports scholarship program provides financial assistance to children who wish to participate in sports but face economic challenges. Our safety program raises awareness about essential safety measures, helping to keep kids and others safe. Additionally, we support animal rescues dedicated to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable animals. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children and our furry friends.
Why We Do It!
On the very first day of summer vacation, our nine-year-old son/grandson eagerly set out to fish alone at a nearby pond. In a devastating turn of events, he drowned, an unimaginable tragedy that shattered our lives forever. That day, time felt like it had come to a halt, and the profound loss we experienced has left a permanent and heartbreaking imprint on our hearts. Through this heart-wrenching tragedy, we want Joey's beautiful spirit to live on.

How We Do It?
In honor of Joey, we have established a scholarship program designed specifically for children who share a passion for sports but face financial hurdles. Today’s economy presents significant challenges for many families, and the high cost of registration for organized sports can often put these dreams out of reach. By supporting this initiative, you’re not just paying tribute to Joey’s infectious enthusiasm; you’re also extending a helping hand to young athletes who deserve the opportunity to chase their dreams.
Beyond sports, Joey’s deep compassion for animals and the natural world inspires us to commit to local animal rescues. Your support can help foster these cherished values and ensure that they continue to thrive in our community.
Reflecting on my fondest memories of Joey, I can't help but recall his enchantment with childhood adventures, like catching lightning bugs on warm summer nights. The sheer joy in his eyes as he captured those shimmering insects and then released them with tenderness reflects the kind of spirit we want to nurture in our youth. His giggles as he playfully chased me, knowing how his Grandmom felt about those bugs, were moments of pure joy that reminded us all of his playful nature.
Joey left his mark wherever he went. His big and gregarious personality was delightful and entertaining. Joey embodied kindness, and he was determined to make everyone smile. The principal, teachers, teacher aides, and staff members at Joey's elementary school loved Joey. To this day, he is fondly remembered. They told the family what Joey's early morning ritual was -- as he walked to his classroom, he would pause at every door, pop his head in, and cheerfully proclaim, "Good morning! Have a wonderful day!" His simple yet heartfelt greetings brightened the mornings of all those around him.
Tragically, Joey’s untimely passing highlights the urgent need for safety education, especially in outdoor activities. His heartbreaking loss serves as a powerful reminder that we must raise awareness about safety to protect our children. By championing this vital program, we can honor Joey’s memory and equip other children with the knowledge and skills they need to enjoy life while staying safe—just as Joey would have wanted.
Together, we can create a lasting legacy that embodies Joey's zest for life, his unwavering love for sports, and his compassion for all living beings. Join us in this mission to remember Joey and honor him in a way that truly makes a difference in our community. Your involvement can inspire others and help us cultivate a safer, more vibrant future for all children.
Though Joey graced our lives for only nine short years, his impact remains profound. Our memories of him are priceless treasures that we hold dear. With your generous support, we can further honor Joey's legacy and enact meaningful change in the lives of many.
